They say, COOKING and SEX are the two things where you use all your five senses!! Well maybe the latter is an exaggeration.
Without getting into the details and comparison of both activities, I must say my COOKING experiments have been an awesome experience.
Last year when I shifted to Mumbai my mother was plagued by doomsday scenarios as to what her pampered son is eating and whether his substantial waist is being satiated by wholesome food or not.
I am single and though this has a lot of other benefits, due to my erratic work schedule, food is not one of them. Hence I took the plunge. Not married! I mean I took the plunge to start cooking. My experiments with cooking have led me to a meditational journey where I have discovered that the joys of palette actually get enhanced when you wear the cook’s apron.
My love affair with food was an old one; but like every old relationship, which gets flaccid with time, cooking my own food replenished the old flames (literally) that were getting extinguished in my old affair with food.
Cooking is creating; like a writer creating a masterpiece, like an artist obsessed with getting the right colors on the canvas, like a musician getting the right notes of a song, cooking is transforming a raw dish and incarnating it into something more sublime. Yes, I can safely state that many of my experiments in the kitchen give me the same satisfaction as that of an artist or writer may get in creating a new work.
Now with the apron becoming a regular feature of my attire, and my kitchen becoming a laboratory of cuisine experiments, I have been plagued by the temperament of an exhibitionist and want to combine two of my hobbies, viz., cooking and photography to capture the delights of my kitchen on this blog.
Welcome to my experimental cooking studio!
